She actively contributes to various organizations, including the Association of Kenya Ethiopia Friends and the Asian African Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Kenya Chapter). She is also the Founder & CEO of both Signum Co. Ltd (Kenya) and Alkebulan Business Group PLC (Ethiopia).

Recent Accolades
In recognition of her ongoing efforts, Selamawit was appointed ambassador for the International Women Think Tank for Ethiopia in 2023. Additionally, she received the Pan Africa America Leadership Award in October 2023.
She received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award in March 2024.
